Last year I participated with 100 other artists in the Ties That Bind art group. The group was challenged to create a charm or embellished men’s tie as part of an art doll that would be created and then raffled with all proceeds to benefit the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. Click here to view the charm I sent.
For more information and to purchase tickets for the raffle to be held on September 30, please visit Scrapbook Royalty. 100% of the proceeds will be given to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund.
Thank you for your support of this most worthwhile cause.

Today I completed my donation to the “Ties That Bind” project - a group of artists united to help fund Ovarian Cancer research.
The color designated for Ovarian Cancer is a teal/turquoise shade. Those are the colors I chose to make this charm. The three stones in the center are hand formed out of turquoise, malachite and lapis lazuli chips, then the teal Swarovski crystals add just the right amount of sparkle. Each unit is wired wrapped and attached with jump rings. The center heart is a separate charm and is also attached to the base with a jump ring. Please visit the Ties That Bind blog to see how all of these charms will be used.

Then take a look at this new book A Charming Exchange, 25 Jewelry Project to Create & Share. If you love altered jewelry and have been looking for ideas and ways to make it your own, this book is for you. There are wonderful tutorials and lots of eye candy to ponder.
I was honored to be a part of this highly talented and creative group of 25 women that participated in this adventure. Kelly Snelling and Ruth Rae are fabulous artists and a joy to work with. My many thanks to both of them for a great experience.
You can track the excitement on the official blog, A Charming Exchange. Here you will also find a list of the other artists and their blogs.
Enjoy!!
