Look what I found

July 11, 2009

I was going through some boxes looking for Aida cloth for my Cloth Doodles swap and at the bottom of the box I found this:

This is a needlepoint pillow that I started over 25 years ago.  It is printed on 14 count canvas and is stitched using two strands of wool.  The canvas was rolled with all of the original colored wool inside.  What a nice surprise.  I am airing it outside now and plan to leave it out where I can see it and work on it occasionally.  You know what they say “What’s old is new again”.

Fun, Quick, Easy Market Totes

July 3, 2009

Take a look at these fabulous Market Totes that I made for an upcoming swap at Cloth Paper Studio.  I used Anna Maria Horner  fabrics from her Drawing Room line of upholstery weight cotton.  They are double sided so you can turn them inside out and have a different design.  These are durable, washable and will last for years.   The design was created by Jessica at SewBunnyBun in Perth, Australia.

Won’t these be fun to carry around at the Farmer’s Market?  Imagine these loaded with fresh carrots, lettuce, tomatoes, corn, flowers and such.
